Well, we made it to Reno and back again...only 7 hours of driving each way. The snow didn't let up the entire time we were in town and thus the Donner Summit required chains. We could only go 30 mph; unless of course we wanted to hit a snowbank. We saw plenty who did. We would see them racing up the mountain and then later on, SMACK! they would be sitting there in the snowbank backing up traffic.
Colin was a great traveler. He didn't fuss at all, but he hated the snow. He didn't even want to walk on it or touch it. Maybe next year will be different. He did however like the "too too", the train that ran between the main casino and our hotel. He also loved to play soccer in the hallways of the hotel.
We managed to visit with Alex's Grandma Gladys, but sadly we were not able to make it to see Amy, Wayne, Allyson and Anika because the road over Mt.Rose was too snowy to travel on.
Here is a picture of Alex and Colin all dressed up for snow adventures.
