Just when you thought I had completely forgotten about my blog...here I am blogging. I don't know where the time goes. The pictures are of my sweet boy Colin Alan Campbell when he was 3 months old. They were taken by cousin Kitty Joe Sainte-Marie.
December was laden with holiday bashes galore. We ran from one relatives house to the next with hardly time to catch our breath. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves as we do every year.
January, Colin started back up in preschool. He's going Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings and really loves playing with all the kids and enjoys listening to the stories and lessons from his teachers Jeanne and Windy. We spent quite a bit of time with visiting cousins (Adam & Leah) from Portland and Auntie Emily including a trip to the Bay Kids Museum in Sausalito for the day. What a beautiful day in the city. We took a hike with Aunt Susie, Papa Allan, Aunt Liz and neighborhood friend Logan at Jack London Park near Glen Ellen. We celebrated the impending birth of Abbie and Johnny's baby at Abbie's baby shower in San Rafael on January 14th and then hit the road to attend cousin Amy's 30 something birthday in Rohnert Park that same night. We also celebrated the BIG 40 for cousin Sean at the new Union Hotel in Santa Rosa. Colin had a fantastic trip to the dentist in January. Dr. Oliver says Colin does a great job brushing and flossing and to keep up the good work. He also had his 2nd year toddler exam where we found out that Colin is now 39" tall and 29 lbs. He grew 5 inches over 10 months, but only gained 1 pound during the same time frame. What a beanpole! I also observed in Colin's prospective preschool and kindergarten classes for the Fall and have chosen his teacher for next year. Probably one of the biggest highlights of January was walking with cousin Louis around Spring Lake. He had a liver transplant in December and it's truly a miracle that he's here with us today. I am so excited that he's up and movin' again.
February is starting off with a bang. Alex went to NADA, a huge car convention in Las Vegas where the ZAP-X (a joint project with Lotus) was unveiled. Alex said the trip was very fruitful. Colin started gymnastics class at Big & Strong Preschool Gym (licensed by the U.S. Gymnastics Association) and thought the giant trampoline was the best invention ever! Today (2/10/07) we went to a birthday party for friend Ryan, who turns 5 on February 15th (same day as uncle Gus St.Marie). Coming up on the next two Monday's Colin and I are going roller skating at CalSkate in Rohnert Park. They have kid skate time where parents can actually walk on the rink without skates to help their kids learn the ropes of skating. I can't wait!!! Alex and our neighbors are hoping to head to Tahoe (Incline Village) later this month or early March for a snow trip. Logan and Colin will have the best time sloshing around in the snow.
Stay tuned for more blogs from ME.
