Massive Update

Hi all...a massive update since Halloween. Life has been nearly a non-stop of work, school, and Colin. Both Alex and I have been just going through the motions without much thought to much else.

Alas there was some free time. One such day was November 2nd - my dad's birthday. We went on a little hike to one of our favorite places. The bluff walk that starts at Shell Beach and you can go North or South from there. We usually go North. Unfortunately the uncle Gus had other plans and was not able to make the hike. Colin had a great time rock hounding (just like his uncle Lou). BTW...did anyone vote for this guy?

On another day, we went to the beach with friends Nikila and her son Vijay. What an amazing day. It was 78 degrees, no wind and the waves were just 1-2 feet. Perfect for our little men. Do you see the friend that came so close to say hello. Mr.Sealion was peeking at us. I hear he's a regular, but this is the first time I've seen him come so close.

Alas Chemistry is almost done. December 13th is my last class this semester. December 1st I register for Anatomy. I'm also looking forward to watching a total hip and total knee replacement done by my bosses. I've been assisting in a few in office procedures and getting some great clinical experiences that way. My main gig is the surgery schedule which puts my "talents" to great use.

I'm so looking forward to the coming holiday season. I LOVE Thanksgiving and I LOVE even more Christmas. There are so many memories that come to mind around this time of year. Also it's my mom's birthday (or what would have been) on December 2nd and Grandma Alices on the 9th. So of course this time of year is always bittersweet for me. My always was into these last two holiday's big time. Decorating, shopping, family, FOOD! Grandma always welcomed family for the holiday's to the annual brunch. Thank goodness that dad and Barb took over this tradition so that we can continue the legacy.

Two wonderful things are also happening this next month #1 my cousin Amy and her family are moving back to Santa Rosa. I'm sure by now everyone knows, otherwise, I'll be on her "list" for sure. She's been gone for a long time and we've missed having her around. 2nd...my other cousin Kitty will be coming home for Christmas (arrival TBD). We'll try to fit into her always packed social calendar; somehow she always makes time for everyone even when time is short. What a gal!

Colin-isms:

Naomi: Colin please put away your soccer ball, it's time for bed.
Colin: Mommy, I know what I know and I do what I do!
Naomi: Well, you can "do what you do" in your room then. HA!!!

Colin (at Sam's 4 Play Cafe tonight): Daddy, I want pancakes for dinner, because I never got to have pancakes this week for breakfast.

Colin (at breakfast this morning): Mommy, after all the leaves fall off the trees, that mean's it's Winter and when it's cold you get to have hot chocolate.
Mommy: OH REALLY?
