VCS Raises Money for Japan

Hello Village Charter School Community!

We have begun a project at VCS called Origami4Tsunami to raise emergency relief funds for Japanese children and their families by making origami as symbols of hope for Japan's recovery. We have already begun to make origami in Shilpa's class and next week I will be visiting the other classrooms and talking to our other teachers and students about the project. Basically, we need to make as much origami as we can in the next 30 days and spread the word about our campaign!

You can check out our fundraising efforts and goals at:
http://www.indiegogo.com/Origami4Tsunami

Each donation we receive is a wish/origami piece pledged for Japan, which will be added to our final collaborative effort: a big origami collage of the globe, which will be auctioned off at the end of our campaign as the final donation.

We have chosen to donate all proceeds to Save the Children, which already has relief efforts in effect in Sendai, to help provide direct support specifically to Japanese children and families affected by the disaster:

Contribute what you can, if you can: pledge, spread the word, or send us your own origami creation to add to the art piece.

Thanks so much for checking it out and passing on the link to others!
