Thanksgiving Weekend

It seemed like everyone watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade, but we missed it, there's no stopping to watch three hours of television with a toddler in the house. Especially one that just got his cast off and is making up for lost time by running around constantly. But we did have a great time anyway. Thursday Alex took Colin to the park while I got the food ready. I made a Sweet Potato Casserole (Note: I used Land O Lakes fat free 1/2 and 1/2 and I chopped the topping all together (including the nuts) in a food processer and I used glazed pecans that you find in the salad dressing isle in the foil pouch.) and a big salad. We headed for Graton to spend a short few minutes with Alex's family. His parents were down in Santa Barbara spending T-Day with Grandma Doris. We stopped by Craig and Anne's house to say hello and then we went to Aunt Liz's house for the big feast. Everything was fabulous. I wish every day could be Thanksgiving (as far as food is concerned).

Friday we went to the beach (Salmon Creek). Our neighbor let us borrow his fantastic kite. It was a really fancy one that you have to hold onto a ski-like tow bar. I was the 1st to fly it and I came darn close to taking out Alex. He had to dive for the sand when it came zooming past. Colin's greatest adventure was climbing up the dunes and rolling down. As he still drools a bit when he's excited, he came up with a sand beard. It was so cute. Too bad we forgot the camera at home. We had a picnic and then headed for home. That night (last night) we dropped Colin off at the club (Parents Night Out Event) and went to see Casino Royale, the new Bond film. The theatre was packed and I loved the new movie. The new gadgets were really cool.

The boys just left for a walk with the dog and I'm here typing away. We're watching our neighbors son from 10am to 12pm while they get a break and go to Yoga class together. I think we'll pile them in the bike trailer and head to the park. Later today, I think we're going to put up our Christmas lights and tree because December is filling up quickly and I don't think we'll get another chance to get everything up.

Tomorrow, Alex has to close down the S.F. Auto Show, so he's headed to the city and I'm not sure what Colin and I will do for the day.
