This past weekend we went to Mendocino. We spent two nights at an inn that Alex's boss, Gary owns part in. It's called the Pacific Mist Inn and its actually in Little River (about 4 miles South of Mendocino). We drove up Friday afternoon, had dinner and checked into our bungalo. We visited the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens on Saturday and ate dinner at Gary and Nanci's house that night. Their house overlooks the beach at Big River right as you enter the village in Mendocino. Sunday morning we at at the Harbor View Cafe overlooking the ocean in Mendocino. What a beautiful view. We plan to go back to the botanical gardens around Mother's Day when everything is really in bloom.
Colin is almost done with his cast. He's in a walking cast now until November 16th when he'll get it off for good. The doctors say he's healing really well. He is now allowed walk on it, though he's trying his best to run on it (not that we allow that). He's also loving his preschool. He asks every day if he's going to preschool. There are only 12 kids in his class and two teachers so it's a nice small ratio and I really like that. All the kids get plenty of attention. It's also a fully vegetarian school. They have a chef that prepares all the food and it's also 90% organic. I think I'll pay tuition so I can go too.
A few weeks ago we also went to ride the Skunk Train which was featuring a life size version of the Little Engine That Could. They told the story on the train and Colin had a great time with is friends Grace and Dylan. We plan to take the Christmas train in December with the same friends.
Alex is back at work after out Mendocino trip and he's looking forward to the annual S.F. International Auto Show. It's always a big event for ZAP. Of course it brings back loads of memories for me because every year dad and Gus would take us "runts" to the car show and we would roam around for hours looking at the cars and the spokesmodels and of course gossiping about the freaky people who were there (like us).
Halloween has also come and gone and it was a bit disappointing due to Colin's broken leg, but he still had fun being Batman and carving pumpkins with mommy and daddy.

Naomi, your trip to Mendocino sounds wonderful! I want to go there soon, I miss the Standford Inn, it's been too long.
Since I'm one of the "runts" you're referring to, I must comment that I LOVED the car shows. We had so much fun collecting all of the brochures and choosing our dream cars.
Happy to see Colin is almost done with his cast!
Love, Amy
