Last Day of School

Today is Colin's last day of the official school year. He goes p/t through the summertime (because of our schedules), so there's really no change for him, but the last day is special nonetheless. He told me they will have a jumpy house today and all the classes will each get their turn to jump themselves silly. Tonight is the potluck and graduation ceremony which each child gets to participate in even if they're not leaving the school. Last year he got a little certificiate of completion for the year. He has one more year at College Oak and then it's off to Kindergarten for this little boy. When he joined Jeanette's class in the Fall of 2007, he was not even three yet, and the youngest in his class. Being the social butterfly that he is, he found it great fun to be with all the kids for the morning and was sometimes cross with me for coming to pick him up so soon. Today his teacher handed me his end of year progress report. You'll notice there's much emphasis on social skills and procedures which preschool is all about...sharing, following directions, etc. He's done some great growing over the past year and we're very proud of our little man. We're trying to decide between several schools. We like the Charters in Santa Rosa, so we're looking at Santa Rosa Charter, Fremont Charter for the Arts (aka Santa Rosa Charter for the Arts, Cali (the Spanish immersion in Windsor...but too far away)....it's a hard decision. We probably won't know until next Spring when we have to sign him up.
